Positive Discipline teaches long-term parenting skills that encourage children and teens to think for themselves, become more responsible, and achieve greater respect for themselves and others.  Its strategies address whining, power struggles and other problem behaviors and increase responsibility, respect and cooperation in children and teens. This approach builds positive, healthy relationships with children and teens without resorting to punishment or rewards.
