Community Outreach Opportunities

Atlanta Humane Society – www.atlhumane.org The Humane Society is a private, non-profit organization acting as a regional sanctuary for the needs of animals, pet owners and the community at large concerning animal welfare issues and problems.
Atlanta Red Cross – www.redcrossatlanta.org – Kids and the American Red Cross have been partners for over a century! The teach kindergarteners through seniors how to lead safer, healthier lives.
Boxtops for Education – www.boxtops4education.com Did you know that helpful people just like you have donated over $90 million to help the nation’s schools since 1996? Saving box tops is fun and easy, and each one is worth 10 cents! You can earn cash for your school or donate it to a “sister school.”
Campbell’s Labels for Education – www.labelsforeducation.com This is another great way to get FREE educational merchandise, including computers, sports equipment, and musical instruments.
Foster Care Support Foundation – www.fostercares.org This is a non-profit that collects new and gently used clothing and equipment to give directly to the foster families free of charge.
Habitat for Humanity Atlanta – www.atlanta-habitat.org This is a non-profit ecumenical housing ministry helps Atlanta families achieve the American dream of home ownership.
Hands on Atlanta – www.handsonatlanta.org A non-profit organization that helps individuals, families and community groups find flexible volunteer opportunities at more than 400 service organizations and schools. 25,000 volunteers are at work every day of the year building community and meeting critical needs in schools, parks, food banks, pet shelters, low-income neighborhoods and more,
Keep Cobb Beautiful – www.kcb.cobbcountyga.gov Their mission is to assist the county and the Board of Commissioners in establishing, promoting, and maintaining a countywide policy for environmental and waste management.
Cut Out Hunger – www.cutouthunger.org or www.couponmom.com Buying food for charity is a fun, educational, and rewarding experience! It teaches how to help others in our community as well as math, shopping, budgeting, and money skills. These websites provide easy-to-follow instructions on how to implement these programs as well as some additional service project ideas.
Make-A-Wish Foundation – www.ga-al.wish.org The Kids for Wish Kids is a program about kids, who in their own special way. Make a difference in the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
MUST Ministries – www.mustministries.org MUST exists to help people in need of transitional housing, emergency shelter, meals, groceries, clothing, job readiness and placement, and more.
Rally Foundation – www.rallyfoundation.org Rally Foundation is an exciting organization raising money for research and hopefully a cure for childhood cancers. So let your kids help kids!
Ronald McDonald House – www.armh.com This facility exists to alleviate the problems faced by families forced to live away from home for extended periods of time. They are located near Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta @ Egelston where children may be treated for cancer or other serious illnesses or injuries.
The Big Help (Nickelodeon) – www.nick.com/all_nick/specials/bighelp/index.jhtm No matter how big or small, every effort you make is a Big Help to your community. Check out this awesome website and jump start your project ideas by going to “Other Ways to Help.”
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society – www.schoolandyouth.org Pennies for Patients is a fun program for students to raise money for other children affected by these diseases.
UNICEF – www.unicefusa.org the mission of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF is to promote the survival, protection and development of all children worldwide through fundraising, advocacy and education. Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is just one way to help this organization.
