An amazing opportunity is currently being offered to every American by the USDA (who is in charge of the National School Lunch Program) to provide public comments about the foods currently being served in our schools. Actually, it may NOT be YOU we are looking for, but perhaps we are looking for someone you know!!! If you or someone you know is passionate about Health and Wellness, and would like the opportunity to join the dynamic team charged with positively impacting the health and lives of children and families in Georgia… WE WANT YOU!!!Specifically, we are looking for individuals who would each spearhead one of the following areas of concern:
- Health Insurance/Healthcare - (improve access to and quality of, for all Georgians
- Medicare/Medicaid /PeachCare- (protect benefits for all Georgians)
- School Nurses - (support funding for and encourage as a career choice for next generation)
- School Counselors - (support with student wellness programming and encourage as a career choice for next generation)
- Physical Activity - (increase physical activity level for all Georgians)
- Mental Health - (suicide prevention, positive body image, etc.)
If you happen to be an expert on, or have a passion for, any of these issues (or if you know of someone else who would be interested), please contact Kim Arasin or Natalie Rogers.

Next Tuesday, October 14, is the date for the 9th District Fall Conference. It is held at Marietta High School 9:30am-12noon. Please plan to attend this important event. In addtion to the meeting, there will be a report writing training session following the Conference. Make every effort to support the 9th District Fall Conference with your presence!

Free Flite will be on hand to offer FREE bike checkups - checking air pressure, chain lubrication, brakes, seat adjustment and helmet check up
Bud’s Bike will be on hand to collect gently used bikes that families have outgrown. The bikes will be fixed up and given to less fortunate families in the metro area. Cobb Sheriff Department will be on hand to conduct a Bike Rodeo which will teach safety tips on how to share the road with cars.A bicycle advocacy group will be on hand to provide families with information on where to cycle in Georgia and to promote cycling in the metro area.
